The women's doubles title defender from Japan, Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi, were halted in the first round of the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2017. They were forced to quit the tourney after defeated by China's pair, Huang Yaqiong/Yu Xiaohan with 7-21 and 20-22 on Wednesday, (14/6).

It's because that's our capability, and we couldn't develop any other styles. There were other factors such as wind and such, but every player experienced that, the Chinese pair is also new, but we actually anticipated this before, but that's not an excuse for our defeat,” Misaki said after the match.

We made blunders,” she added.

After the bitter defeat, they stated they wanted to be in Indonesia for preparing the Australia Open next week.

After this we will prepare for Australia Open in Indonesia, and we will fly to Australia right away. After the last match experience, we will anticipate whenever we are going to play in new venues," she ended.

With this result, Misaki/Ayaka fail to defend their title they won at the 2016 BIO.
