"Praise Lord, this victory is not only because of my ability, it is Lord’s Blessing. Lin Dan is my idol, he is in a different level, I am lower than him. Winning two titles at the Olympic has proven that Lin Dan is not in the same level,” Jonatan said with a smile to the press after the match.

The BIOSSP 2016 becomes their second encounter. Previously, they met at the 2016 Singapore Open Super Series where Jojo lost 13-21, 7-21.

According to Jojo, This time Lin Dan seemed uncomfortable with the crowd’s noise at the stadium which distracted his concentration. Jojo assumed Lin Dan was not really suitable with the shuttlecock type used at the BIOSSP.

"I also thank to the supporters at Senayan. Lin Dan doesn’t like a noisy crowd. But in my opinion, Lin Dan was not at his best,” Jojo said.

Next, Jojo will probably take on Denmark’s men’s singles player, Jan O Jorgensen, who has just defeated an Indonesian men’s singles player, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, in the first round. Jorgensen is playing his match in the second round against Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Ki Vincent to fight for a quarter final ticket.
