JAKARTA - The BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier (BIOSSP) 2016 is a stage for Indonesian young athletes to shine. Like Indonesian men’s doubles trio who are being spotlighted by world top players.

As received by Jonatan Christie from Denmark’s star, Jan O Jorgensen, who acclaimed him to be the future player. Jojo was lost from Jorgensen in quarter final of the BIOSSP 2016 in a three set match, 21-14, 18-21, 14-21.

"You don’t have to worry. Indonesia has many talented young players. Jonatan, Ihsan (Maulana Mustofa) and Anthony (Sinisuka Ginting), they are very young and they have bright future," said Jorgensen.

According to Jorgensen, Jojo’s performance has been improving significantly since 2016 Malaysia Open. In fact, Jojo nearly stunned Chen Long. "Jonatan is one of my toughest opponents,” added the 2014 BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier champion.

Not only Jorgensen but also British Rajiv Ouseph who fought Ihsan in quarter final also saw promising potential in Indonesian young players.

"I knew Ihsan could play well, impressive, Indonesian players are young and able to improve,” Ouseph said. Overcoming Ouseph in quarter final with 17-21, 21-12, 21-12, Ihsan will take on a heavy challenge from  world’s #2 player, Lee Chong Wei in the next match.

Commenting on Ihsan, Chong Wei praised the Indonesian young player although theoretically speaking the Datok has bigger chance to win.

"Ihsan is a player with good attack. Everyone has a chance, whoever is well prepared, he will be the winner,” Chong Wei stated.

“I think Indonesian men’s singles players are amazing, Jonatan could defeat Lin Dan. I witnessed Anthony’s performance at the 2016 Thomas Cup, although losing, he played well. After the Olympic, Lin Dan and I probably would retire, it’s the time for them to shine,” Chong Wei stated.
