According to Cheng Long, he actually played pretty well as he had displayed in the previous rounds. The first seeded refused he had a poor match when fighting against his non seeded opponent.
“Today, my level was average. As good as usual and it is not that bad. I actually had no troubles playing against Parupalli. It is perhaps because I am the seeded player so he had the motivation to beat me," Cheng Long said.
Yet it has to be admitted that the Indian was resilient and faster than Cheng. He has to take the bitter defeat, like it or not, and fails to secure a place in final.
Beside Chen Long, Tian Hou Wei, Xue Song, Wang Z and Lin Dan had left the tournament earlier. This is clearly an upset because China which is famous with its reputable men's singles fails to send anyone in the category.
“It's Ok. In a game, losing winning, it's normal. But at the next tournament, we will try better," he added.
