Jakarta | Indonesia is confirmed to secure one title from Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 through the Men’s Doubles event after both Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan are through to the final round of the tournament. Kevin/Marcus follows Hendra/Ahsan’s path to the final after winning the two-set match of 21-9, 21-13 against the Men’s Doubles pair from China, Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen in the game that was held in Istora

Senayan, on Saturday (20/7).

In the game that lasted 29 Minutes, The Minions showed their mighty performance when they beaat Li/Liu in front of the thousands of supporters in Istora. “Today we played better than the previous match. We managed to take control of the game and take control of our own performance. Today Li/Liu played very quickly and their attacks were good too,” said Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo.

Similar comment was stated by Marcus Fernaldi Gideon who claims to have played better than the previous match. “Today we played a bit better than yesterday. Today we made a lot of attack and didn’t make a lot of unforced errors. On top of that, the opponent also received many pressure from us,” said Marcus.

Playing against their own compatriot in the final round of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000, Kevin/Marcus claims that they will play all-out and refuse to let their guard off. “For the match tomorrow we have to play better. They already knew our strengths and weaknesses, and so do we, we know their strengths and weaknesses. It is important to be focused since the beginning of the match, do our best and must not let our guard off,” he said.

The match between The Minions and The Daddies in the final round of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour replicates the All Indonesian Final that happened during the Daihatsu Indonesia Mastes 2019, last January. On that occasion, Kevin/Marcus won the match through a two-set game of 21-17 and 21-11 over Hendra/Ahsan.

“Every player definitely has their own strengths and weaknesses. We often train with them, so we know really well what kind of play that they always do. What matters for us is to try to show our best,” Kevin added.
