Muhammad Bayu Pangisthu made it through his first challenge in the qualifying round of the BCA Indonesia Open (BIO) Superseries Premier 2017. Facing the other Indonesian player who is also representing Djarum Kudus badminton club, Bayu was finally able to win after going through a three set game with 15-21, 21-9 and 21-18.

Even so, he said he was unsatisfied with his first appearance, Monday (12/6).

"I'm not satisfied with my first performance, I feel that I played slightly poorly, especially in the first set. There was a sense of tension facing my senior in PB Djarum. In the second set I started to get my shape, but I was blank in the third set," Bayu said after the game.

In the second qualifying match, Bayu will face Malaysian player, Chong Wei Feng, in a battle for the main round. Previously, the two players met at the Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold. At that time, Bayu was forced to surrender, 21-9, 17-21 and 11-21.

"In the previous meeting, I was still less brave to apply a variety of shots and worried I would get exhausted tired, so I wasn't all out. Now I want revenge, hopefully I can win and go to the main round," he concluded.
