The eighth seeded was qualified for the second round after in the first round on Wednesday (14/6) they stunned their junior compatriots, Akbar Bintang Cahyono/Giovani Dicky Oktavan in two straight games 21-17 and 21-18.
"The key to our victory was because we often practice together, so we know their strength and weaknesses," said Ricky.
This time, Angga/Ricky became Indonesia's most seeded men's doubles. This is because the first seed pair who had been expected to win the tournament, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya, had to be eliminated.
That will become a motivation for Angga/Ricky in their next match.
"It is very unfortunate that Marcus/Kevin is defeated, but we become more motivated to answer fulfill PBSI's target in the men's doubles sector. Hopefully we can win, at least we can step on to the final," Ricky said.
In the second round, Angga / Ricky will take on other Indonesian representatives, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.
"Like I just previously stated, we already know their strengths and weaknesses because we often conducted training sessions together," said Ricky.
