"We hope we perform well when facing Zhang/Zhao. They have decent skills and Zhang is very good at analyzing the game,” Riky added.

Riky/Richi managed to the second round after being forced to play rubber by Hong Kong’s Lee Chun Hei Reginald/Chau Hoi Wah. Riky/Richi bombardment succeeded in making their opponents overwhelmed which finally brought them to victory,  21-13, 14-21, and 21-18.

Meanwhile, Edi Subaktiar/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja’s journey at the tournament was halted by Korea’s thrid seeded pair, Ko Sung Hyun/Kim Ha Na. Edi/Gloria after they were defeated in two game straight, 18-21 and 15-21.

"Our opponents played calmly, especially at crucial moments. Perhaps it is because they are used to win Superseries titles. It was obvious they were calm and could control the momentum,” Edi said after the match.
