Jakarta | An unfortunate result has to be faced by the Third seeded pair from Japan, Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino in the first match of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000. Playing in Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday (16/7), Yuta/Arisa has to hand over the victory to Chris Adcock/Gabrielle Adcock after calling the match early after receiving an injury when the score stands at 6-11.

The Ankle injury that Arisa Higashino had during the Badminton Asia Championships 2019, last April, relapses again in this match. Refusing to let her condition gets worse, Yuta/Arisa finally decided to end the duel early after the match has only been played for seven minutes.

“All of the sudden Arisa felt pain in her leg, so we cannot force it. The injury happened a long time ago, but suddenly today she feels it again. Before she plays, she had seen a doctor and the doctor claimed that the condition is okay,” said Yuta Watanabe to Djarumbadminton.com

Refusing to let the injury gets worse Yuta finally called the match off and re-set his focus on the preparation for Japan Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 2019 that will be held next week. “We don’t want to force it, I am worried that if we continue to play the condition will get worse. We want to focus on Japan Open next week as we are playing as the host,” He said.

This result means that Yuta/Arisa has to forget their dream to win the Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 title.
